The Greenmount Beach Patrol
The Tweed Heads and Coolangatta Surf Life Saving Club was formed in 1911 & is responsible for the safety of bathers at Coolangatta's famous Greenmount Beach. Greenmount Beach is patrolled by volunteer life guards from 7am to 6pm every weekend & public holidays from September through to May.
Greenmount's Competitions
The Surf Club hosts regular competitions on the beach including the annual Junior Coolangatta Gold Ironman race held over the October long-weekend. Long-board riders from all over are regulars at Greenmount's famous point break & the beach is host to the Malfunction each year at the beginning of July.

Greenmount's Champions
The club is home to the Australian IRB (Inflatable Rubber Boat) champions, with Gerard Perin taking out the coveted Australian IRB driver of the year Gold Medal three times.

John Wilkie also calls Tweed Heads and Coolangatta Surf Club home when he's not competing internationally. John is the Australian K1 Slalom champion & is currently in training for the coming Olympics.

The Club is also home to some of Australia's most talented Master's Games competitors. Pictured here from left to right is Paul the Professor Safigna, Col Morley, Moose Morley & Harry Timebomb Klousal.

This team cleaned up at the bi-anuual Asia Pacific Masters Games games bringing home almost 20 medals between them.
