Coolangatta Tours & Activities

Just a short drive from some of the most famous theme parks, beaches, shopping and entertainment in Australia, visitors will find plenty of thing to do in Coolangatta. Close to World Heritage listed rainforest and stunning mountain hinterland, there really is something for everyone in Coolangatta. Famous for its fantastic weather, the best way to enjoy Coolangatta is to get out there and get amongst it.

The main street is just a few blocks from the beach and although Coolangatta is quite modern, it enjoys a more laidback lifestyle and more welcoming atmosphere than some of the busier and more fast-paced areas of the Gold Coast. With gorgeous beaches that are far less crowded than those of the central Gold Coast, Coolangatta’s shores are safe for swimming and very family friendly.

Of course if you’re ready to step up the pace, Coolangatta is also known for its fantastic surfing and some of the best can be found at Point Danger. Despite its adventurous sounding name, Point Danger is actually quite safe for seasoned surfers who enjoy its challenging conditions. If you’re not quite ready to brave Point Danger, Kirra Point is also an extremely popular surf spot with less difficult conditions. Kirra also has an outstanding range of amenities including surf shops, cafes and the famous Kirra Surf Lifesaving Club where you can enjoy a cold drink and a delicious meal overlooking the surf.

If you prefer to just kick back while on holidays there are an almost endless array of shopping and dining options along the foreshore. From take aways and beach bars to casual cafes, bistros and trendy restaurants, you’re sure to find something to satisfy your appetite. Every second Sunday you’ll also find a variety of market stalls set up along the foreshore offering everything from fresh local produce to local arts and crafts, souvenirs and more.
